Edgemont, Pennsylvania – February 1, 2012 – As federal agencies and U.S. and NATO armed forces continue to emphasize escalation of force and non-lethal weapons, the Maxa Beam Searchlight by Peak Beam Systems, Inc. is quickly becoming the white light of choice for remote-controlled security systems around the world.

Peak Beam Systems’ line of Maxa Beam Searchlights offer an unparalleled 12,000,000 CandlePower output and 3,500 meter range in military-grade housings. The Maxa Beam is the only compact high-intensity searchlight with a computer-controllable motorized beam width and variable frequency strobe function.

The Maxa Beam’s strobe is especially effective for deterring and stopping oncoming vehicles and persons because it causes “ocular disruption” and disorientation. The Maxa Beam’s strobe has similar effects to those of a green laser dazzler without the strict eye safety issues or export regulations.

Peak Beam Systems, Inc. offers multiple configurations of its 12,000,000 CandlePower Maxa Beam Searchlight for integration into computer-controlled systems. Variations include visible or infrared output, Picatinny rail mounts, and mil. spec. metal connectors. The searchlights are typically controlled using an RS232 serial interface and are often employed with third-party Ethernet-to-serial servers.

Current end-users of the Maxa Beam Searchlight include the U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard, NATO Armed Forces, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

About Peak Beam Systems, Inc.:
Peak Beam Systems, Inc. is a leader in the design and manufacture of high-intensity illumination products. Peak Beam’s flagship product, the Maxa Beam Searchlight, has been field-tested for twenty-four years and users include the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Department of Homeland Security, federal and local law enforcement, and friendly foreign governments.

Peak Beam’s Maxa Beam Crew-Served Weapons Light features Remote-Controlled Beam Adjustment and Strobe for Escalation of Force

Edgemont, Pennsylvania – August 8, 2011 – Peak Beam Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Company’s Maxa Beam Crew-Served Weapons Light (CSWL) has been placed on the U.S. Army’s Common Table of Allowance (CTA). This placement follows an extensive Product Evaluation Test of the Maxa Beam CSWL conducted by the U.S. Army’s Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors.

The Army’s CTA provides a flexible Basis of Issue for acquisition and also acts as a guide to help units determine which items and stock quantities they are authorized to procure in order to help them complete their mission. Peak Beam’s CSWL is listed on CTA 50-970 for Expendable/Durable Items. Authorized Army personnel may view the CTA online at the Force Management System Website (FMSWEB).

The Maxa Beam Crew-Served Weapons Light emits an unparalleled 12,000,000 CandlePower output and includes an infrared filter for covert operations. All of the CSWL’s features, including a motorized beam width adjustment, variable beam intensity, and a strobe function, are controlled at the rear of the weapon using a rugged remote control unit. The CSWL’s strobe option automatically sweeps through multiple frequencies allowing the CSWL to be used as a disorienting and effective non-lethal weapon.

Peak Beam’s Maxa Beam Crew-Served Weapons Light has been assigned National Stock Number (NSN) 6230-01-588-8523. The CSWL is commonly deployed with a MKVIII Sight and Illumination Mount for the M2HB .50 caliber Machine Gun (NSN 6230-01-589-5287). The MKVIII is manufactured by Advanced Tactical Sighting Systems in Shelton, WA and is also available for purchase on the Army’s CTA.

New LiFePO4 Battery offers longer run times and more life cycles than traditional Maxa Beam Batteries.

February 7, 2011 – EDGEMONT, PA – Peak Beam Systems, Inc. has announced the release of a new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery for the company’s Maxa Beam Searchlight. Weighing in at only 3.5 lbs., the new LiFePO4 battery can power the searchlight for over two hours and offers great value with a faster recharge time, lower self discharge rate, and more than five times the total life cycles than the company’s older Lithium-Ion batteries.

Peak Beam’s line of Maxa Beam Searchlights have been fielded by U.S. Military forces and foreign military, security, and law enforcement for over twenty years and have proven to be a valuable tool for security applications including perimeter surveillance, force protection, checkpoint security, and escalation of force operations. The LiFePO4 battery’s long run time will enable the Maxa Beam’s end-users to operate the searchlight for extended periods of time without the need for extra battery packs or recharging. In addition, the LiFePO4′s low self-discharge rate makes this battery an ideal choice for users who want to store a charged battery for long periods of time.

Peak Beam has also announced the release of two charging units for the new LiFePO4 battery pack. For more information on the battery pack, chargers, and how this technology compares with Peak Beam’s existing battery offerings, please visit www.peakbeam.com or contact Annie McManus, Director of Sales and Marketing, at 610-353-8505.
